C&D demolition consultants were employed by GHA to act as the principal designer for one of the most anticipated explosive demolitions in the UK. Three large concrete frame buildings were to be demolished using explosives with one block remaining to be removed by high reach excavator.

The award was given to C&D due to the fact that they have explosive engineers and structural engineers supporting the senior principal designer. The principal designer on this project was both a demolition engineer and explosive engineer. Support was given by the former president of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and the client demonstrated their duty by employing a consultancy company with the skills knowledge and experience of explosive demolition.
