Service: Structural and Demolition Engineering
Date: 2016-2026
The project initially started in 2016 which was part of a regeneration attempt at the former gas holder works. C&D were appointed at the preliminary stages and are still working on demolition projects and will continue on site there until 2026. Consultancy work consisted of asbestos surveys & analysing the initial remediation strategy, demolition of redundant gas holders and associated pipework’s.
The demolition of the Cadent 4 story office block, which was built directly over the canal front and consisted of over running low, medium and high-pressure gas mains was successfully demolished. Subsequently were asked to produce specific reports for the removal of the tower cranes that ran above Cadents gas assets. This included understanding ground bearing pressures, point loading of 750 tonne cranes and the re-routing of Cadents service departments over a long period of time. This culminated in C&D being appointed by Cadent to act as their advisor on several subsequent projects.
