Located in the centre of Halifax, surrounded by multiple residential and commercial establishments, and adjacent to West Yorkshire Police (WYP) Divisional Headquarters, the three tower blocks (Cobden Court, Blenheim Court and Westbrook Court) had been left unoccupied for over thirteen years.
The site’s regeneration is part of the Calderdale Together Investment Partnership, a collaboration between Together Housing and Calderdale Council, which aims to deliver 500 affordable homes over the next five years.
C&D was contracted by the Principal Contractor Rhodar to carry out the demolition and structural engineering of the three tower blocks. In addition, we produced asset protection drawings of the two live substations including underground power cables. Rhodar then instructed C&D to produce a full set of RAMS for the high reach demolition and for the protection of the nearby stakeholder properties.
